Zack Snyder’s Production Company Signs First-Look Deal With Netflix

Stone Quarry Productions – a company run by Zack Snyder and his wife, Deborah – has signed a first-look deal with Netflix.

Snyder has enjoyed a lucrative creative relationship with the streaming platform. His zombie heist film ‘Army of The Dead‘ released on Netflix in May, with a sequel recently confirmed. A prequel film ‘Army Of Thieves‘, has already finished filming.

Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the Snyder–Netflix relationship has been brought even closer with a first-look deal.

“My goal and hope are to bring as much quality content as I can and do it on a giant scale.” Said Snyder. “Big projects and big movies.”

Zack Snyder recently confirmed that Netflix was taking on his epic sci-fi idea, Rebel Moon. Rejected by Lucasfilms as a potential part of the Star Wars franchise, Snyder now hopes to build his own IP in a unique sci-fi universe owned by Netflix.

“For us, it was so important to find a partnership that was based on mutual respect.” Said Deborah Snyder. “The creative process works best when everybody trusts each other and you can take chances and be creative. For us, we don’t usually play it safe. The content we make is a little bit edgier. And I think it’s important to have a good partnership and hear each other.”

“Netflix has given us a lot of freedom.” She added. “But they’ve also embraced the idea of trying new things and not necessarily waiting for a success before moving ahead.”
