Apple has given us the first official look at Apple TV+ The Morning Show that stars Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carell.

In the epic trailer that has sent fans of Jennifer and Steve into a frenzy, we are given the first series plot with Jen’s character, Alex Levy, announcing that Mitch Kessler has been fired from the network.

Mitch is played by Steve, with viewers of the trailer speculating the storyline is similar to that of Matt Lauer when he was fired from NBC over sexual misconduct allegations.

You can see by the end of the trailer that Alex gains control of her career and rapidly crumbling world after she announces that her co-worker and presenter has been fired; seemingly taking charge of the network.

Throughout the trailer, Supertramp‘s Goodbye Stranger is playing and fans of The Office have called out Apple on sneaking homage to Steve Carell’s show.

In season 4 of The Office that released in 2008, Steve’s character, Michael Scott, sings the same song to Toby Flenderson as he left Dunder Mifflin for a trip to Costa Rica.

Coincidence?

The Morning Show will focus on the real-life goings-on within a typical television network, allowing the audience to have an insight into the world of daytime-news TV. Reese Witherspoon also features in the series, amongst Billy Crudup and Mark Duplass.

In the description on Apple‘s YouTube video, it reads, “What happens when the people you trust to tell the truth prove themselves to be dishonest? The Morning Show follows the free fall of an early morning newscast in the wake of a scandal, and its struggle in an era when news arrives in the palm of your hand.”

Apple is saying the show will be available on its premium Apple TV+ service this fall.
