Brewers Pitcher Devin Williams Breaks His Hand
Brewers pitcher Devin Williams is likely to miss the postseason after reportedly punching a wall while celebrating clinching the NL Central title on Sunday (September 26).
Brewers beat writer Adam McCalvy wrote on Twitter that the 27-year-old regretted the incident ever occurred. “If I could take it back, I would,” he is quoted.
Devin Williams is being placed on the 10-day IL with a fractured right hand. He told us he had too much to drink after Sunday’s celebration, got upset about something and punched a wall with his pitching hand. He will need surgery.

On Sunday, the Milwaukee Brewers secured their second NL Central title in four years. The team quickly took to celebrating their success off the pitch and Williams had reportedly drunk heavily before the incident.
“I’m pretty upset with myself,” said Williams in a report by CNN.
“There’s no one to blame but me. I feel like I’ve let my team down, our coaching staff, our fans, everyone. I know how important of a role I play on this team and a lot of people count on me.”
Williams won the National League Rookie of the Year award in 2020 and this season has posted a 2.50 ERA with 87 strikeouts in 54 innings.
