‘Captain America’ Actress Ruled Unfit To Stand Trial In Murder Case

Captain America actress Mollie Fitzgerald has been found incompetent to stand trial in her mother’s murder case.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Fitzgerald was found to lack the competency to stand trial in September.

Her lawyer, Jason Billam, revealed that she had since been returned to a state mental hospital, where she would be monitored and evaluated every 90 days.

Billiam also stated that the court decision was supported by three doctors – two of which believed that Fitzgerald could not help her lawyer.

Mollie was charged with the murder of her mother, Patricia, in December 2019. Authorities discovered Patricia, 68, deceased in her home from four apparent stab wounds to the back.

Fitzgerald claimed to have stabbed her mother in self-defence.
