Chelsea Off To A Winning Start In UCL Round Of 16

Chelsea kicked off their UEFA Champions League title defence with a win against French club Lille.
The World Champions beat Manchester City last season to lift the coveted UCL trophy thanks to a goal from Kai Havertz.
Once again it was the 22-year-old who got them off to a flying start in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie against Lille, with a goal after eight minutes.
Although a relatively even game, with a particularly impressive performance from Lille’s Renato Sanches who dominated the midfield, Chelsea all but sealed the win with 25 minutes to go.
This time it was Christian Pulisic who secured victory, assisted by the always impressive N’Golo Kanté.
Who will progress to the next round will be settled in the second leg, which takes place March 16.
Elsewhere, Villarreal earned a draw against Juventus, who got ahead in the first minute through Dušan Vlahović.
Dani Parejo levelled the game in the 66th minute – and with the away goal rule scrapped this year, all is to play for in the second leg.
The final game day of the first legs takes place Wednesday 22, with Atlético Madrid welcoming Manchester United and Benfica taking on Ajax.
