Dancing With The Stars professional Maksim Chmerkovskiy has finally managed to leave Ukraine after he was arrested.

Chmerkovskiy, who has been documenting his ordeal on social media since Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an invasion on Ukraine last week, took to Instagram on Monday and revealed he was recently arrested on the streets of Kyiv.

“Just a lot of fighting everywhere. The streets are crazy. At one point, I got arrested…but all good, promise,” he said in the video message.

Now, in a new update, Chmerkovskiy has revealed he is finally on a train out of Ukraine and is heading to Poland.

“I made it on the train. We’re heading to Warsaw (hopefully). Train to Lviv was not an option. The situation at the train station is insane,” he said.

“AT first it feels manageable, but it gets a lot worse when it comes time to actually board the train. Long story but all I can say now is that I’m a big man with nothing but a backpack it’s traumatising,” he added.

Chmerkovskiy had returned to his home country Ukraine recently to be a judge on the Ukrainian World of Dance Series.

However, he has been struggling to find a way out of the country ever since fighting broke out between Russia and Ukraine
