Eminem’s Father Has Died Aged 67

Eminem’s biological father, Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr. has died aged 67. 

According to family members, Marshall died this week in Fort Wayne, Indiana, after allegedly suffering a heart attack at home.

Eminem, real name Marshall Bruce Mathers III, has made multiple songs about his grudge against his biological father, and never meeting him in person.

In My Name Is and Cleanin’ Out My Closet he expresses his feelings and addresses his issues with abandonment. Lyrics from Cleanin’ Out My Closet include, “My f***** father must’ve had his panties up in a bunch ‘Cause he split, I wonder if he even kissed me goodbye. No, I don’t, on second thought, I just f*****’ wished he would die. I look at Hailie, and I couldn’t picture leavin’ her side.”

According to Eminem, when he’s written letters to his father as a child, they always came back “return to sender.”
