First Look at Netflix’s ‘The Crown’ Ahead of Season 5

To echo the passing of time, Netflix’s revolutionary The Crown changes actors frequently. The next season will see many big names take over from the current cast.
Season 4 saw the explosion of Emma Corrin onto our screens as young Princess Diana, playing alongside Josh O’Connor as young Prince Charles. In the upcoming season, we will see Elizabeth Debicki and Dominic West take over.
Filming for Season 5 began in July 2021, but it is not yet known if it will hit our screens in November 2021 or November 2022.
As well as Charles and Diana, many other major roles have been recast. We will see Imelda Staunton assume her role as The Queen and Jonathon Pryce taking over to play the late Prince Philip.
Whilst Princess Margaret has been recast as Lesley Manville.
Manville has been quoted as “I could not be happier to be playing Princess Margaret. The baton is being passed on from two formidable actresses, and I really don’t want to let the side down.”
Season 4 focussed on the tumultuous relationship of Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
It is rumoured the new season will pick up in the early 90’s and perhaps go right the way to the early 2000’s.
