Jackie Goldschneider Thought She Was ‘Going To Die’ From Eating Disorder

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jackie Goldschneider has opened up about her eating disorder battle.
The 43-year-old told her co-stars Margaret Josephs and Melissa Gorga that she thought she was “going to die” when her battle with an eating disorder became too much for her to handle.
During an episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, she explained, “I want you to understand that getting back an eating disorder and to a place in your life where you can actually eat something and be OK with it, people don’t understand how hard it was to get past that,”
She furthered, “My father, like he has nothing but the best intentions, but does he understand what I went through in my twenties? No,” before she was asked by Josephs how she became self-aware and the steps she took to enable a treatment process to be implemented.
Goldschneider said, “I had to get to a point for myself where I stood on a scale one day and I weighed like, nothing,” and revealed that after their wedding, her and husband Evan went to an all-inclusive resort in Mexico where she only ate apples and canned tuna, that she brought herself.
Jackie explained, “And I came home and I got on the scale and that day I was like, ‘OK. I’m going to die’ … and I was like, ‘I gotta help myself because I’m gonna die,’”
During an interview with People in 2018, she spoke about her struggle with anorexia, saying, “I was the thinnest person in the room and I was always going to be the thinnest person in the room … that was my identity. That’s what I wanted.”
