According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kirkman, Brian Oliver, Bradley Fischer, Riva Marker, David Alpert, Bryan Furst and Sean Furst will produce alongside Gyllenhaal.
Oblivion Song takes place a decade after 300,000 citizens of Philadelphia were suddenly lost in a disastrous event called ‘Oblivion’. Protagonist Nathan Cole becomes the last hope to find those missing when the government gives up the search.
The adaptation is the first feature to be developed under the first-look deal between Nine Stories and New Republic Pictures.
Gyllenhaal is currently awaiting the release of crime thriller The Guilty, in which he plays Joe Bayler. He will also feature in action-thriller Ambulance – due to release in February 2022.
