Jim Thome Cancels Browns Season Tickets Following Deshaun Watson Signing

MLB Hall of Famer Jim Thome has cancelled season tickets to the Cleveland Browns following their signing of Deshaun Watson.
The Browns have defended their signing of Watson, despite the significant backlash.
The 26-year-old is facing twenty-two civil lawsuits, many of which stem from alleged sexual assault and misconduct. You can read more about this here.
Former Cleveland Indians infielder Thome and his family have cancelled their season passes to the Browns, according to his wife Andrea.
She took to Twitter to share that they would no longer be attending games amid Watson’s arrival.
“Officially cancelled our Browns season tickets today and asked for a refund as they were paid in full,” Andrea wrote.
Officially cancelled our Browns season tickets today and asked for a refund as they were paid in full. Very sad after 40 years as a fan, but this is my line in the sand. I believe women. Especially when there are 22 of them. That press conference did nothing to change my mind.

“Very said after 40 years as a fan, but this is my line in the sand. I believe women, especially when there are 22 of them. That press conference did not change my mind.”
She continued: “If @Browns won’t refund – I will auction off every single game and publicly donate every cent to different women’s crisis charities in N.E. Ohio, raising awareness week by week during the season.”
Her stance was met with retaliation from fans across Twitter.
But, in a follow-up tweet, Andrea goes on to share a message she received from one of the twenty-two women filing assault allegations against Watson.
I wouldn’t wish the last 48 hours on anyone, but this letter is why it was worth it. I stand by my decision and none of threats, name-calling, false-accusations or character assassination makes any difference. Other peoples opinion of me is none of my business. ✌? pic.twitter.com/4GV6JiPSgb

“Any tweet or comment I see that speaks against sexual violence against women is one more reason for me to keep going and not feel utterly hopeless,” the message reads.
“I have been at my lowest point in the last couple of weeks, and I just wanted to say thank you.”
