The story follows Charlotte, a young German-Jewish woman who grows up during World War II. Through war, she emerges to create a timeless masterpiece.

Charlotte Salomon invented the graphic memoir when she painted her life story in over a thousand works while living as refugee during wartime.” Said Julia Rosenberg for January Films. “Her vitality and stunning talent have been overlooked for too long. Charlotte is a gesture of resistance, honouring her legacy while revealing it to the world.”

Charlotte is produced by Rosenberg, Jérôme Dopffer, Eric Goossens and Anton Roebbens.
