LaMelo Ball Wins Kia NBA Rookie Of The Year Award

LaMelo Ball won the NBA award after leading in both assists and steals against the other rookies.

The rookie averaged a 15.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.6 steals per game in his first season, NBA reports.

The Charlotte Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball helped his team reach the tenth seed in the Eastern conference.

The Hornetshowever, missed out on reaching the playoffs when they lost to Indiana Pacers in the Play-In Tournament.

During the regular season, Ball made history becoming the youngest player to record a triple-double. 

Ball received 465 points from the votes counted by the writers which was 156 more points then second place Anthony Edwards.

LaMelo was the third overall pick in the 2020 draft, during the season the Hornets player picked up a fractured wrist injury which kept him out for twenty one games.

LaMelo becomes the third Hornets player to win the award.
