During a World Cup qualifier game between Argentina and Boliva, Lionel Messi broke Pele’s South American goalscoring record.
On the night Argentina won the game 3-0 with Messi scoring all the goals to overtake the record held by the Brazilian. The PSG player has now scored seventy nine goals.
Speaking after the game he said that he was “very nervous, I just wanted to enjoy the night.” Adding how he “waited a long time” for this moment to happen.
