Ryan Reynolds has paid tribute to fellow Canadian actor, John Candy, 25 years after his death.

The beloved comedian actor, John, passed away on March 4, 1994, after he suffered a heart attack while working on the film Wagons East in Durango, Mexico aged 43.

In a montage video that Ryan shared on Twitter, he said, “It’s the 25th anniversary of John Candy’s passing. We cooked up a small tribute to a comedic genius and Canadian hero. If you haven’t seen much of his work, take a look at his films. He was a treasure.”

In Deadpool 2, Ryan’s character Wade Wilson can be seen reading The Canadian Mounted, which is also read by John in Planes, Trains & Automobiles.
