Johansson first played Natasha Romanoff, otherwise known as Black Widow in ‘Iron Man 2’ released in 2010. She also played Romanoff in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ released in 2019 in which her character unfortunately suffered a tragic death.
‘Black Window’ is set before the final two Avengers instalments and is the latest film Johansson has played Romanoff. The film is currently available to watch in cinemas.
Speaking on Live with Kelly and Ryan the star spoke about her character saying: “I really have had such a fantastic run, I love working with Marvel. They’re like family to me and I would love to work with them again in any capacity.
“But I think I’m ready to hang up my batons. I really feel like I’ve had such an amazing run and I’d like to go out on a high, you know, that’s always the best way to leave the party.” She added.
Based on the Hollywood stars words it seems that her character will no longer make any appearances in the Marvel universe and we are also unlikely to ever see a sequel to ‘Black Widow’.
