Spike Lee “Back in Editing Room” For 9/11 Doc Amid Backlash

Upcoming Spike Lee documentary series, according to The New York Times, is “NYC Epicenters 9/11-2021½” about the 9/11 attacks has faced backlash for “giving conspiracy theorists a platform.”
Lee has faced mounting criticism for his 8 hour documentary series which includes remarks from conspiracy theorists, and has stated is “re-editing the last episode.”
The docuseries “NYC Epicenters 9/11-2021½” details the effect on the 9/11 attacks and the coronavirus on the city. The final episode is set to air on the 20th anniversary of the attacks.
“Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth” are the conspiracy theorist included in the docuseries.
They push the debunked idea that the towers of the World Trade Center were brought down by a controlled demolition.
The acclaimed director quoted the “jet fuel can’t melt steel beams” conspiracy theory in an interview on Monday with The New York Times. “The amount of heat that it takes to make steel melt, that temperature’s not reached.”
And then the juxtaposition of the way Building 7 fell to the ground – when you put it next to other building collapses that were demolitions, it’s like you’re looking at the same thing,”
The Wrap reported Lee said in a Wednesday statement “I Respectfully Ask You To Hold Your Judgement Until You See The FINAL CUT. I Thank You, Spike Lee.”
