WWE Legend, Ashley Massaro, Dies After Apparent Suicide

Ashley Massaro has died after apparently taking her own life, after claims of depression following multiple injuries from her WWE career. 

According to sources, the 39-year-old was discovered in her Smithtown, New York home on Thursday morning.

She worked at a radio station and was due at work that morning, but after she failed to show up, alarm bells started ringing.

Emergency services attended her address after there was a report of an “unconscious” woman. Ashley was taken to hospital, with CPR being administered on the way, but she had sadly passed away.

Before her passing, she was amongst 60 wrestlers that were accusing WWE of failing to protect employees from repeated head trauma and concussions — all part of a lawsuit which was dismissed last year after a judged deemed it “frivolous”.

Her wrestling career spanned between 2005 to 2008 where she “sustained multiple concussions and did not receive appropriate treatment” for her injuries.

She would have been celebrating her 40th birthday on May 26, 2019.
