Zack Snyder Reveals He Had A Backup Batman In Mind

Zack Snyder says he had a second actor in mind for the role of Batman if Ben Affleck had rejected the position.

In an interview on Happy Sad Confused, the acclaimed director said Matthias Schoenaerts was his second choice.

“He never got in the suit, but I did do a bunch of mock-ups of him, because Ben was on the fence.” Said Snyder.

He added that Affleck’s hesitance didn’t surprise him. “Everyone should be on the fence when you’re asked, ‘Do you want to play Batman?”

Schoenaerts has appeared in well known titles like, The Danish Girl, Red Sparrow, Rust and Bone and A Bigger Splash.

Zack Snyder’s most recent film, Army Of The Dead – about a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas – was released on Netflix 21 May.
