Lauren Alaina is single, and wants you to know that she’s loving her life.

Alaina and her ex-fiancé Alex Hopkins ended their relationship almost nine months ago, after six years of being together.

During an episode on Monday night’s Dancing with the Stars episode, she explained, “I am single for the first time as an adult, so I am not trying to hurry love. I will say that I am enjoying it,”

The 25-year-old addressed her split from John Crist, a Christian comedian and YouTuber. On The Bobby Bones Show in May, Lauren revealed that she was dating Crist for several months — announcing just hours before the Dancing with the Stars premiere in September that she had ended their relationship.

She said, “I went through a breakup two weeks before I came on this show. Kind of a crazy time, but being on Dancing with the Stars has been the perfect recipe for healing my broken heart. This show has been like my new boyfriend. I’m dating Dancing with the Stars and it’s going great,”

Multiple sexual misconduct allegations were brought against John last week, where five women came forward with accusations. Charisma News reports that “Crist has exploited his Christian reputation and platform to harass, manipulate and exploit young women over the last seven years,” to which, in a long statement issued to Charisma News, John apologised “for the hurt and pain” caused to the women, saying he has “treated relationships with women far too casually, in some cases even recklessly.”

The statement reads, “Over the past number of years, various women have accused me of behaviour that has been hurtful to them. While I am not guilty of everything I’ve been accused of, I confess to being guilty of this — I have treated relationships with women far too casually, in some cases even recklessly. My behaviour has been destructive and sinful.

I’ve sinned against God, against women and the people who I love the most. I have violated my own Christian beliefs, convictions and values, and have hurt many people in the process. I am sorry for the hurt and pain I have caused these women and will continue to seek their forgiveness. I have also hurt the name of Jesus and have sought His forgiveness,”
