Nike Announces New Long Term Deal With Kobe Bryant’s Estate

Vanessa Bryant has announced that a new long-term deal with Nike that will see them produce both footwear and apparel from Bryant’s Zoom Kobe series.

The initial deal with the sports brand expired almost a year ago.

Vanessa took to Instagram to share the news.

“We’re excited to announce our partnership with Nike is going to continue!” she wrote. “I am so proud that my husband’s shoes are still the most worn by players on NBA courts and that the demand for his shoes remain so desired by his fans around the world.”

Nike will look to inspire the next generation of athletes, planning global initiatives that honour Kobe Bryant’s legacy.

Kobe Bryant means so much to so many of us, not just NBA fans but globally beyond the game,” said Nike President and CEO, John Donahoe.

“His impact in growing the sport, particularly encouraging women and young people to pick it up, endures as one of this deepest, lasting legacies.

“Together with Vanessa, we hope to honour Kobe and Gigi by championing a new generation for many years to come.”

The deal features the re-release of the eleven signature Bryant models worn during his career, and six post-career models.

Nike have also announced that they will launch a new Gigi Bryant shoe.

100% of the proceeds for Gigi’s shoe will be donated to the Bryant’s Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation.
