‘Rust’ Crew Member Sues Alec Baldwin

What is presumed to be the first of many lawsuits, head of lighting Serge Svetnoy, has filed a lawsuit against Rust creators and producers, including Alec Baldwin, for negligence.

Following the fatal shooting, which took the life of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, Svetnoy has claimed that he is suffering from “severe emotional distress”, according to CBC.

The shooting took place in New Mexico, on the Bonanza Creek Ranch, where the western was being filmed.

In a live news conference, Svetnoy spoke of Hutchins as “his friend”.

Adding that “he had seen guns sitting unattended in the dirt a few days earlier in the shoot, and had warned the people responsible about them”.
