Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin has dropped a huge bombshell about a possible alternative ending.
The 71-year-old has teased supporters of the fantasy series by suggesting another ending is on its way, and sooner than expected.
He spoke with the German newspaper, Welt, and summed up speculation about rumours of a potential new ending, saying, “People know an ending — but not the ending,”
A question around whether it would be another series of GoT, or turned into a film, Martin responded, “At this point in time, it wouldn’t be for me to decide, because HBO controls the film right for Game of Thrones.
David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the two creators behind the series, actually wanted to end the sage after the seventh season with three big movies,” — when did this talk happen? According to George, “Four or five years ago, it was seriously discussed … The executive said: We produce TV shows, we are not in the cinema business,”
The two remaining books will be released under the titles, The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring.
