Netflix has announced the final season of Orange is the New Black will be released on July 26, 2019.
History in the making was set after the first season was released in bulk on July 11, 2013, with millions of viewers falling in love with the characters and hoping for a second season.
The months following the first season release, Netflix announced season two would commence filming and thus we have six complete seasons readily available for anyone to binge watch — be warned though, you are about to become addicted to one of the greatest Netflix Originals which is due to finalise in two months.
The plot summary for the final season reads, “Piper struggles with life on the outside, while life in Max, as corrupt and unjust as ever, goes on without her.
Taystee’s friendship with Cindy still hangs in the balance as her life sentence looms, Gloria and her kitchen staff are confronted by the hard truth of Polycon’s newest profit stream, while others chase drugs or dreams and grapple with the reality of their place in this world.”
An unusual trailer promoting the season finale has been released, with the cast singing the episode introduction song by Regina Spektor.
