Warriors’ Klay Thompson Apologises For Bandwagon Fans Comment

Klay Thompson has apologies to Warriors fans after making a comment about ‘bandwagon fans’ in a press conference on Wednesday.
Thompson slammed fans who haven’t been there since the beginning.
“The real fans know what’s up,” he said. “I’m talking about the fans prior to winning championships. The fans who sat through many years of not winning.
Klay was feisty in his press conference this afternoon at @ChaseCenter. He was looking at his phone nearly the entire time and when asked about criticism toward Beli this year, he aimed his frustration at bandwagon supporters of the team. 😂 Love you Klay! pic.twitter.com/k8X0iL6ySJ

“But these new fans who come around and expect greatness and they weren’t anywhere to be found prior. They can get away.”
He adds: “We can forget those folks. They don’t deserve to rep the Warriors.”
Thompson was quick to change his tune in an apology video.
“Bandwagon fans are a good thing,” he said, retracting prior comments. “It means you have turned people over to your type of play. So, sorry if I offended anybody, not my intention. We welcome all Warrior fans around the globe.”
