Dakota Johnson Gives Tips On Dealing With Quarantine Anxiety & Depression

Dakota Johnson has served us with some quarantine tips for dealing with anxiety and depression.
The 30-year-old Fifty Shades of Grey star spoke with Extra earlier this week and revealed details about the upcoming High Note film.
She wanted to give some advice on coping mechanisms when it comes to dealing with anxiety and depression as we wait our way through quarantine.
Since the age of 14, the actress has been in and out of depression, something which she opened up about with Marie Claire magazine, “I’ve struggled with depression since I was young–since I was 15 or 14. That was when, with the help of professionals, I was like, ‘Oh, this is a thing I can fall into’ but I’ve learned to find it beautiful because I feel the world. I guess I have a lot of complexities, but they don’t pour out of me. I don’t make it anyone else’s problem. My brain moves at a million miles per minute, I have to do a lot of work to purge thoughts and emotions, and I am in a lot of therapy.”
Johnson explained recently to Extra that depression can be aided to lessen when focussing our minds on exercise or healthier thoughts, “You are at home, you’re not with your friends, you’re not with your family, you are not able to do the things that make you feel worthwhile… You’re kind of in this costume of depression. Right now, there’s also immense pain and sadness ricocheting around the world constantly so it’s hard to feel totally positive all day every day when the world is sad, it’s dangerous and it’s scary and it’s lonely.”
Useful tips include, “meditation or going for a walk, being kind to your body.” with Dakota explaining “Those little things make a difference ultimately.”
