Michaela Coel Dedicates Emmy Win To Survivors
Michaela Coel took home an Emmy for her series, I May Destroy You, and dedicated the win to anyone who has been a survivor of sexual abuse.
The 33-year-old actress won an Emmy for writing the show in the Outstanding Writing category.
This win comes after the show did not receive any nominations at the Golden Globes.
About the achievement and the award received, Michaela Coel stated in her acceptance speech:
“Write the tale that scares you, that makes you feel uncertain, that makes you feel uncomfortable. I dare you,”
Coel also dedicated the award to “every single survivor of sexual assault.”
