The co-creator behind the hit sitcom series Friends, Marta Kauffman, has confirmed a reboot or reunion won’t happen.

Letting millions across the world down like a needle through a ballon, Marta was speaking at a Friends 25th anniversary panel when she confirmed the devastating news.

Originally starring Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry, the show lasted from 1994 until 2004 with the final episode, The Last One, viewed by over 52 million in the United States alone.

Marta was pressed about a reunion show, to which she responded, “We will not be doing a reunion show, we will not be doing a reboot. The show was about that time in life when friends are your family.”

When asked about a reboot, she explained, “It’s not going to beat what we did.” with co-creator David Crane saying, “We did the show we wanted to do. We got it right, and we put a bow on it.”

Lisa Kudrow made reference to Friends in a post on Instagram, teasing fans by captioning the image that had Jennifer and Courteney, “Halfway there… #girlsnight #?”
